Walguy Visits The Bailey Tract
Me posing in front of the sign at the section of the 'Ding' Darling Wildlife Refuge called the 'Bailey Tract,' which was named after my friend and favorite actor, Bailey Slattery (not really, but she's enough of an animal lover that it could have been!).
Gator - Up Close and Personal!
One of the paths at the Bailey Tract passes within 8-10 feet of a pond for a stretch, with little vegetation between the edge of the pond and the path. In this area we discovered a 6 foot alligator partially submerged in the water just off shore. I got within 3-4 feet of it to take this picture. Fortunately it was snoozing in the afternoon sun, and never moved while we were in its vicinity.
