Packer Practice

Packer Practice

I took this picture through the fence at the Packers' practice field, located adjacent to Lambeau Field and the Packer Hall of Fame, during my visit to Green Bay in July of 1991. During training camp it is a Green Bay tradition for fans to line the practice field and watch. Hundreds were there on this particular afternoon. I walked around three sides of the field in search of good photo opportunities, and at no time did any of the fans attempt to talk to or get the attention of any of the players. Even the kids understood that they were there strictly to watch, not distract. I thought this was really neat, and a testimony to the unique relationship that exists between the Packers and the citizens of Green Bay.

On the right of the picture you can see #84, Sterling Sharpe, the Packers' best player at that time, who is now an ESPN commentator.
